It's not a secret anymore...
Soccer Starts at Home® uses a unique methodology for parents to instill confidence and focus in their children all while developing critical soccer skills and fostering a bond over the love of the sport.
Children as young as two years old benefit greatly from the stimulation of brain functions, and the mastery of basic technical skills will give them a significant advantage once they’re old enough to join a team.

This book is gold dust for your kids!
Tom Byer and Soccer Starts at Home® is going to completely change youth soccer development for those parents who follow it. This book is a great read, easy to understand, and you don't have to be a soccer player to help your kid excel!
"Through the development of his own sons, Tom Byer has shown that what has been accepted until now as common wisdom in the world of soccer is, in fact, wrong. Those of us involved in soccer can not help but to acknowledge this fact and humbly accept what Tom is telling us, because this will lead to a new kind of development in the game."
Tom, just wanted to say thanks. Your philosophy couldn’t be more spot on. Both my boys (5 & 4) have fallen in love with the sport. My oldest’s confidence and natural leadership has blossomed. He’s much more assertive in everything. I could barely get this email sent to you because of so many “daddy watch this” and “daddy look at this new trick”. Not only has this done wonders for them, but my relationship with them has grown so much as well. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for writing the book “Soccer Starts at Home”. Your approach to soccer growth in young kids is instilled in my son’s training. Here in California lots of the soccer club coaches rely on speed & strength of kick at such an early age. We took the opposite approach & just worked on his ball mastery and touches since he is the smallest in his age group. As of today he is the most skilled player when it comes to techniques among his peers. He may not be the strongest kicker, however he is the most technical & he enjoys it. He is happy when coaches ask him to demonstrate certain moves. This is such a confidence builder.

Tom Byer is recognized by his football peers, the AFC, numerous national Football Federations, major football sponsor brands, international media and the countless number of young footballers he has taught and inspired over the last 24 years, as the World's leading grassroots technical coach.
Even though Tom has been teaching football to children for over two decades, it wasn't until he had two children of his own that he understood he'd been missing something. And he realized that it wasn't just him, but the football world in general that was ignoring football's youngest age bracket.
Can you teach football skills to a 2-year-old? Tom decided to find out with his own two sons. He documented and videoed their progress and using this practical experience helped to develop Tom's philosophy, which was previously based on his countless hours of coaching other people's children with more traditional methods.
This book makes Tom's philosophy available to all parents in a simple and straightforward way. It also reaches into cutting edge child development theory which explains the benefits of utilizing Tom's methodology to not just improve technical football skills, but also to assist in the development of a young child's brain.
This book explains how you can teach very young children the skills required to be a football player in a fun and self-motivating way - and anybody can do it. You don't need to be a professional coach like Tom; you just need to be a parent.
It's not about coaching and coaches; it's about using a parent's love for their children and a child's need for parental approval to ignite the child's interest, and eventually love for the game. In 'Football Starts at Home,' Tom Byer is sending a message to the world of football. If you think there's nothing new to be learned in the sport, think again.
